CLOSING NOTICES

The City of Paris will be closed Monday, November 12, 2018 in observance of Veterans Day.

Trash normally picked up on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

The City of Paris will be closed Thursday, November 22nd & Friday, November 23rd, 2018 in observance of Thanksgiving.

Trash normally picked up on Thursday will be picked on Wednesday, November 21st. Trash and recycling normally picked up on Friday will be picked up on Monday, November 26th.

PUBLIC NOTICE

CURBSIDE LEAF COLLECTION

The City of Paris will begin curbside leaf collection on Monday, November 5 through Friday, November 30, 2018.

Leaf collection will take place on your regular trash collection day. Leaves placed in bags will be collected by the regular trash truck, while leaves raked to the curb will be collected by the leaf machine. Residents are asked to have leaves placed at the curb before 6:00 AM on pick-up day.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Paris, KY – On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, a presentation was made during a regular schedule meeting of the Paris City commission that proposed a new economic development opportunity for the City.

The proposal, centered around a bourbon distillery, would pay homepage to the birthplace of bourbon, Bourbon County, KY, and would be a multifaceted venue that could include space for events, dining, a gift shop , and a museum. The proposed distillery would be name the Jacob Spears Distillery and would be a tribute to Bourbon County’s own Jacob Spears, whom many believe is the “father of bourbon.”

Paris Selects Rumpke for Trash and Recycling

Service Begins Week of December 3, 2018

PARIS, Kentucky - October 22, 2018 - The City of Paris has selected Rumpke Waste & Recycling as its weekly trash and recycling service provider, beginning December 3, 2018

"We're proud to partner with Rumpke to continue providing residents and businesses with quality waste collection services," said Daron Jordan, Paris city manager. "This collaboration will allow expanded services including residential curbside recycling city-wide, the acceptance of glass as a recyclable material and a discount to those 60 years and older."

As part of the new agreement, residents will have the option to use their own trash cans. Residents can also lease a Rumpke 95-gallon trash cart for $2 each. Residents may also choose to participate in Rumpke's curbside recycling program at no additional cost. Eighteen-gallon bins will be provided to residents who wish to recycle.
