City Clerk Mission Statement:
The Paris City Clerk’s office takes pride in serving as the City’s official records custodian; prudently recording and preserving the City’s historical and legislative records.

The City Clerk is an appointed city official responsible for the administrative and clerical record keeping necessary for the proper functioning of the City. The Clerk assists the City's elected officials with proceedings and policies generated thru public commission meetings such as Ordinances, Municipal Orders, Resolutions, Contracts and Internal Policies. Other duties include billing and collection of Property & Tangible Taxes, Franchise Tax, Business License, Payroll Tax, Net Profits, and Insurance Premium Tax. The City Clerk has possession of the seal of the city and attests the Mayor’s signature.

As official custodian pursuant to KRS 61.879-61.884 Open Records Act the Clerk is responsible for accepting Open Records Requests and providing requested information as permitted by law.

  • Complete the open records request form.
  • Mail, Fax or Email completed form to the City Clerk at City Hall located at 525 High Street, Fax to (859) 987-4640 or email signed form to ssettles@paris.ky.gov.
  • You will receive notification on the status of your open records request within 5 business days.
