About the Office
The Paris City Clerk’s office serves as the City’s official records custodian, recording and preserving the City’s historical and legislative records. The Clerk is an appointed city official responsible for the administrative and clerical record keeping necessary for the City’s operations, and assists elected officials with Ordinances, Municipal Orders, Resolutions, Contracts, and Internal Policies generated through public commission meetings.
Other duties include billing and collection of Property & Tangible Taxes, Franchise Tax, Business License, Payroll Tax, Net Profits, and Insurance Premium Tax. The City Clerk has possession of the seal of the city and attests the Mayor’s signature.
As official custodian under KRS 61.870–61.884 (Open Records Act), the City Clerk is responsible for accepting Open Records Requests and providing requested information as permitted by law.

- Mail, fax, or email the completed form to the City Clerk at City Hall, 525 High Street, Paris, KY 40361. Fax to (859) 987-4640 or email the signed form to ssettles@paris.ky.gov.
- You will receive notification on the status of your request within 5 business days.
