The City of Paris, KY (population 9,300) is a full service City (Police, Fire, Streets, Water, Sewer, Sanitation and Electric Production and Distribution) with 130 employees. The City Manager form of government was adopted in 1976. The City Council consists of the Mayor and four Commissioners. Appealing, full-service city, neatly located near 1-75, amenities of Lexington; 1 hour from Cincinnati, county seat of Bourbon County, Kentucky. The City of Paris, Kentucky is seeking candidates for City Manager. The City of Paris is known for its “Horses, History, and Hospitality” and the 220 year old town is located just 16 miles from Lexington. City services include police, fire, ems, public works, community development, and multiple utilities. The position is responsible to the Mayor and a 4-member City Commission. The City seeks a pro-active, visionary, team oriented, and resourceful City Manager who can successfully balance the City’s historical heritage with future growth. The candidate should be an excellent communicator and effective consensus builder. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Public/Business Administration or a closely related field. Five years progressively responsible municipal or similar business experience required. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Benefits:                      8 hrs. per mo. annual leave (10 after 5 years) accruable to 160 hours.
